Overview

Oil Quality Sensors provide continuous real-time monitoring of lubricating oil conditions to support predictive maintenance and improve equipment reliability across maritime and industrial operations. Unlike traditional oil analysis methods that rely on periodic sampling and laboratory testing, these sensors continuously assess oil health during operation, enabling operators to detect contamination, wear, or degradation before equipment performance is affected.

NAG Marine Oil Quality Sensors are based on Tan Delta’s FSH™ (Fluid State Health) technology, which evaluates oil condition holistically at a molecular level rather than measuring isolated parameters. Instead of monitoring individual properties such as viscosity, moisture, or particle count alone, FSH™ technology analyzes the electrochemical characteristics of the oil to determine its overall quality and remaining usable life.

This approach provides highly sensitive detection of contamination, oxidation, fuel dilution, water ingress, and wear-related changes in real time. Continuous monitoring enables condition-based maintenance, helping reduce unplanned downtime, extend oil service intervals, and lower operational and environmental impact.
