NAG is in pursuit of a dynamic individual who seeks a leadership role in a small, nimble, well established company that hasn’t lost the entrepreneurial spirit.  The CFO will perform on-sight in our NAG Office in Norfolk, VA in this hands-on position, directing the work of several accountants and accounting specialists.

Since 1999, NAG, LLC, doing business as NAG Marine, has maintained a business model based around developing, qualifying and supplying modified COTS hardware to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command and commercial fleet operators.  Our consistent focus on working within our core competencies and leveraging the substantial corporate knowledge amassed over nearly two decades has positioned NAG as a trusted provider of reliable, qualified products which we follow with a dedicated, highly skilled service team. 

As a key member of the NAG Marine Executive Management team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will report to the President and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, facility management, contract compliance (including procurement) and private and institutional financing.

The CFO will be responsible for the monthly closing process and oversee the Accounting Staff in  preparation of monthly financial reports and general ledger reconciliations; directs annual reviews with independent auditors including financial statement and footnote preparation, oversees incurred cost submissions, DCAA annual provisional rate renewals, CAS Disclosure Statement updates, bank compliance package preparation and special projects. This function supports the Executive Management Team to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. AD Hoc Reporting and analysis will be required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • MBA or CPA required
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in government contracting; prior Controller or CFO level experience desired
  • M&A and ESOP experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, DFARs, CAS, Sales & Use Taxes
  • Managerial experience to include Human Resources and management of all benefit plans.
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment)
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage a plus
  • Crystal Reports a plus.
