Job Decription: 

This position is responsible for the processing of various accounting data on a daily and monthly basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Weekly processing of timesheets for all employees.
  • Weekly processing of expense reports and credit card reconciliations for all employees.
  • Daily recording of cash receipts for all checks or electronic deposits from customers.
  • Daily recording of vendor invoices, matching the receiving reports and purchase orders.
  • Processing Accounts Payable checks generated by Accounting Manager.
  • Daily billings to customers for all shipments of product.
  • Processing of new Customer credit checks and set up in SAGE.
  • Project (Job) setup in SAGE for all new jobs/awards.
  • Electronic filing of all Accounts Payable documents and remittance; billings in job folders; timesheets.
  • Reception/telephone system support, answering incoming lines, greeting visitors when needed.
  • Responsible for recording daily cash activities, i.e. ach travel wires, wire transfers, manual checks, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven knowledge and understanding of general Accounting.
  • Effective verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and solve problems with both customers and vendors.
  • Must be able to handle volume of transactions timely.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • AS degree in Accounting or prior experience (2 years) in Accounting environment preferred
  • Proficient in Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills
  • Prior processing of accounting transactions preferred.
  • Government Contracting experience a plus.
