NAG Marine presents a high reliability, quick acting 24 – 28 VDC motor operated ball valve constructed of Stainless 316L with Teflon seating surfaces. Our design features active sealing with a tell tale drain which ensures no fluid intrusion into electrical components. The use of a 6A1-4V Titanium ball type valve with Teflon seats has proven itself as the most reliable valve for a corrosive saltwater environment. The proposed valve design has been used for numerous years in the submarine community and has been tested to 48,000 cycles without failure. The basic design of the valve would allow for a 1.5-second cycle time.
The valve has a manual override with a four-bolt actuator, which can be easily changed on board ship in the unlikely event of a failure. The valve features a slip type clutch, with the switches for activation mounted separately to the valve stem. This design eliminates additional alignment requirements for the electro-mechanical interface.
